Erica Richardson, a lifelong creative, started making jewelry in 2013. The Land of Salt started out as a print business, but shifted into a jewelry business as Richardson began exploring various methods to create jewelry. Through a great deal of trial and error and after learning how to electroplate and use traditional metalsmithing methods, Richardson began selling jewelry under The Land of Salt. By sourcing materials from local rock shops and destinations, The Land of Salt gleams with pride for the state of Utah. In 2015, Richardson realized her dream of opening a brick-and-mortar studio to sell her items and as well as promote and sell products from other makers throughout the US. For the June Craft Lake City workshop, Erica will give a brief electroplating demonstration and instruct how to create a masterful piece of jewelry.
