Honeypot Concerts Presents Jerry Joseph with SGT.Splendor aka Eric McFadden and Kate Vargas. December 14th doors at 7:30 25$adv 30$ Door JERRY JOSEPH Portland's Jerry Joseph is a bonafide "triple-threat", a prolific and accomplished songwriter, a powerful singer and a memorable performer. In his four-decade career; as a solo artist, with the Jackmormons, supergroup Stockholm Syndrome, his two-piece The Denmark Veseys, his beloved 80s cult band, Little Women, or most recently with Drive-by Truckers backing him; he has continuously toured the world, including such unlikely locales as Lebanon, Israel, Kurdish Iraq, India, Cambodia and Afghanistan, and released a steady stream of albums. In 40 years the Oregon Music Hall of Fame Inductee has amassed an impressive catalog of work as well as many stamps on his passport.
In 2024, Jerry & The Jackmormoms re-released the iconic Mouthful of Copper, their electrifying live album originally recorded in 2002. The remastered edition brought new life to this legendary performance accompanied by a special tour in celebration of the album's re-release. Audiences were treated to raw, dynamic performances that harkened back to the intensity of that unforgettable era.
Sgt. Splendor duo Kate Vargas and Eric McFadden Before joining forces, the duo behind Sgt. Splendor were already formidable solo artists, Kate Vargas chalking up acclaim at outlets like NPR, HuffPost and Vice (including praise from the "Dean of American Rock Critics" Robert Christgau); and Eric McFadden amassing an impressive resume including stints on guitar with George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars, Anders Osbourne, Fishbone's Angelo Moore, and Eric Burdon & The Animals, plus a slew of solo albums, and session work with everyone from Jackson Browne to The Clash's Joe Strummer. "One of the most unique bands to come out of the new millennium is the contrasting duo of Sgt. Splendor. The group consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist/ flautist Kate Vargas, and her partner in crime, guitarist/ vocalist Eric McFadden (George Clinton & P-Funk, Eric Burdon, Les Claypool, etc)...is this an album for the masses?... yes. Yet it is even more so an album for the music aficionados who understand and appreciate in-depth, heavy songwriting, wrapped in a blanket of heavy Blues and Rock music that holds its own against anything you can throw at it.
