The Painted Roses
Formed in Logan, Utah in early 2018, The Painted Roses began as an outlet for songwriter Cole Stocker (guitar/vocals) to share a catalog of folk-centric songs written in his time at Utah State University. The band has seen several lineup changes, but has largely centered around core members Alex Schneider (guitar) and Nora Barlow (vocals), who joined the band in late 2019, followed by Allie Harris (guitar/vocals) who joined in 2020. The band released their debut album "Stone Cold Killer" in 2021, at the time labeled "the epitome of a musical masterpiece" by Salt Lake Underground Magazine (SLUG). A short tour of the western US followed in 2022, as well as several festival appearances including: Red Ants Pants Music Festival, Utah Arts Festival, and Treefort Music Fest. The Painted Roses display a strong collaboration between its several songwriters, beautiful three and four-part harmonies, and elaborate and emotional guitar work. The band released "Two Lines", an EP of songs largely written by Stocker and Harris in early 2024.
