21-year-old Utahan, Wyatt Pike, delights audiences by combining acoustic and common pop elements into his own unique style. Although he cites influential artists including Anders Osborne, Andy Shauf, and Phoebe Bridgers for his sound, his mastery of storytelling makes him a standout on his own.
While Wyatt has been performing live for over 7 years, it wasn’t until 2019 that he committed fully to his passion, withdrawing from business school days before his scheduled departure. During his gap year Wyatt explored numerous facets of the music entertainment industry volunteering as a radio DJ, interning for Park City’s Mountain Town Music and auditioning for and earning acceptance to Berklee College of Music. Additionally he released his debut EP ‘Brand New Boy’.
On ‘Brand New Boy’, Wyatt captures snapshots of his personal experiences in high school brilliantly articulating common themes of identity, empathy and personal loss. His stories struck a chord worldwide, his growing popularity even capturing the attention of producers for the 4th season of American Idol.
The release of his most recent single, ‘Diana’, an intimate retrospective of surmounting heartbreak, coincided with his steady rise on American Idol. His obvious talent, daring song choices and authentic nature propelled him to the show’s ‘Top 16’. He devastated audiences when he unexpectedly withdrew from the competition for personal reasons. His first comment on his departure echoed Luke Bryan’s prediction that he was going to “be able to do music for the rest of his life” stating simply “I had to leave the @AmercianIdol competition for personal reason but am so thankful I get to play music for the rest of my life.”
True to his promise of “more musical things soon” Wyatt has been living, writing and recording new music in Los Angeles, CA having moved there in September after a successful summer of shows across the United States.
His sophomore album is slated for release in early 2022 and will be followed by a tour. Stay tuned for music release and tour locations/dates.
