Journal Making Workshop
This workshop is held at the Gallivan Center during the 10th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival. The cost of this workshop includes a single day DIY Festival entry ticket to be used by the workshop attendee on the day of the workshop.
Learn how to bind your own journal with exposed sewing techniques in this Craft Lake City® workshop presented by West Elm at the 10th Annual DIY Festival®! Instructor Allison Milham of the Book Arts Program at the University of Utah will lead participants through the fun and meditative process of Ethiopian-style bookbinding, a structure similar to the Coptic binding, which makes an excellent journal or sketchbook. Note that the cost of this workshop includes single day Festival entry (and a separate entry ticket is not required). WEST ELM PRESENTS CRAFT LAKE CITY WORKSHOPS AT THE 10TH ANNUAL DIY FESTIVAL
The 10th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival presented by Harmons and Mark Miller Subaru will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, August 11, 2018 from noon to 7 p.m.
For the second year, West Elm will present Craft Lake City workshops on-site during the 10th Annual DIY Festival. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from top local makers and take home their own contemporary, handmade DIY projects. Pre-registration is required.
Note that workshop tickets include the cost of single day entry to the DIY Festival. A separate entry ticket is not required.
The 10th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival presented by Harmons and Mark Miller Subaru is a three-day, local-centric event held the second weekend of every August. In 2018, the DIY Festival will celebrate its tenth year. The DIY Festival is held at the centrally located Gallivan Plaza in downtown Salt Lake City at 50 East and 200 South. Visitors will enjoy viewing and interacting with over 250 Utah-based artisans and creatives including: Google Fiber STEM Building DIY engineers and tinkerers, craft foodies, vintage vendors, Kid Row youth makers, and performers on two different stages.
